Allow me to surprise you

Now that you have created a list of what you’re hungry for and you’ve peeked at your existing commitments (that was in yesterday’s video that you can quickly watch right now if you missed it), and maybe doing that you got a little tetchy or grumpy…

Maybe you don’t like choosing, or perhaps looking at the amount of time you do have this season, whether a lot or a little, made you feel constricted or unmoored.

I get it, and I made an audio for you to address all that today! BUT be ready to go in a different direction than harnessing willpower or creating endless to-do lists because I’m guessing that’s not what you need right now.

Hope you like it!

Thanks, Jen, I needed that. Yes, the power to decide does not exist in that craziness of trying to decide between what do I want and what do I need. Or are they the same? Rest, yes! The space to just be. Why can’t I just have that? my inner child asks. Why do I have to work for it, change for it? And, will it be worth the bother. My being says “No, its not. You can’t anyway.”

Hi Jen,

Your mini-class came at just the right time. I’m going to be at the retreat Saturday and plan to be sorting through a lot of my plans and focus for this summer and this fall. Thank you!

This is so helpful, Jen, to name it for myself. When I ask myself why I don’t have any creative juice right now after many months of stressful events, I realize that my battery is so low. I do need rest and rejuvenating and healing activities, not me trying to force myself to “get back on track.” That hasn’t been working anyway!

Forcing never does work, that’s for sure!

My goodness, Jen! I really needed your words this morning. I didn’t get nearly enough sleep last night, and my body just feels worn out! Thanks for the reminder that sometimes amidst all of the doing, what we may really need most is to simply rest and be for awhile. I’m clearing time on my schedule this afternoon for a much needed nap!

Hi Jen, I am enjoying these recordings — in addition to having a busy spring and summer planned, and a brand new grandchild to be crazy about — I was diagnosed with breast cancer in early April. My prognosis is very good but meanwhile I have had two surgeries and must add weeks of radiation in July. Do I need deep rest? Yes, yes, yes. — when it rains it pours — I also have my ghost-writing gig AND two trips planned this summer. I was scared to look at the calendar. Then when I did, I found four un-planned weeks in between radiation and my trip in late August. What a revelation! Now, what is my task? TO MAKE SURE I DON’T OVER-PLAN THOSE WEEKS. I will probably need them to make a concerted effort on my writing gig. I will probably have to guard my time very carefully. This has been valuable already, I look forward to the next audio.

So needed today, Jen
Exhale and rest. Don’t get distracted.
I wish that I can remember to do just this every day. To step back and relax a bit.
I’m looking forward your next video/audio.
Thank you for sharing this mini course with all of us!!

Thank you, Jen. Since the end of the year last year, there has just been too much going on: from my own choices but mostly from things that came up that were critical to attend to like computer dies, a physical problem, weather issues causing their own messes. I was feeling that I couldn’t “let down” and come back to myself. And worst of all that I didn’t have enough time or energy to “get back on track”. Meanwhile, taking on more things from those I love. Now, ah, I just experienced with your audio the feeling I have craved. Ah, ah, ah. Deep gratitude to you for all the years I’ve “known” you and how you have assisted me in doing what I love!

Sigh…. That was so helpful on this day that did not go at all as I planned, but has been joyful in a different direction…. Helping my husband plant some flowers on a property he manages!
The quiet breathing meditation was a wonderful reminder to take time to breath. I will try to schedule that to happen daily at least once…. Thank you! I do need rest!.

I know I am late to the party, but oh, what a glorious and perfect party. This is exactly what I needed this day. I am discovering that what I am most hungry for is simply myself – the wholeness, the enoughness, the belatedness of being within Love Itself. Thank you for bringing me home.
