Writing Brave Virtual Retreat

April 4th, 2020

with Jennifer Louden

Imagine how good it would feel to devote an entire day to your writing.

A day in which instead of staring at the screen in frustration
or editing the same piece of writing to death
or wondering where to go next

or doing everything BUT writing

You write with joy! With intention! With friends and with a seasoned writing coach and writing pro who's an expert at moving you past fears, blocks and stuck places into fresh thrilling authentic writing.

So put your phone in a drawer, lock your studio door or get out of the house, and get ready to give yourself the gift of nurturing your voice, your stories, your words.

You’re Officially Invited to My First Ever Virtual Writing Retreat

I’ve been teaching in-person writing retreats and workshops for 26 years. And I absolutely love being knee-to-knee with writers and creatives, teaching them how to bring their words to the page with more joy, self-compassion, and truth.

It’s really life-changing.

And I know that it’s not easy to travel, to take 5+ days off, and to afford my retreats. I read your emails telling me how much you want to retreat and can’t and my heart hurts.

That’s why I’m hosting a virtual writing retreat to give you the same retreat experience to unfurl your writing like maybe nothing else has before.

It is my only virtual retreat this year so jump in!

Come to get a bunch of writing done on a project. To jumpstart a book or a blog. Come for the love of the craft. Or to get started again. To gain insight into your project. To reconnect with your voice. To love writing again!

What a few others have said about retreating with me:

Joining a writing retreat with Jennifer Louden was a gift: a nourishment to my creative self, to the words and the mystery on the page that was beckoning me, and to the story that I know needed to be told. One of the best parts of the experience was finally carving out enough generous space to do the writing I know I need to do in this world.

She is smart, wise, and truly an expert in not only storytelling, but in leading and guiding you through your own writer's journey. She held the space and created a container for us to be open and honest and brave. I'm so grateful for her wisdom and skill at leading groups of people—she makes it seem easy (it's so not!) and lets you step away from whatever life is beckoning you with to finally, for a moment, for a day, for a week: get to tell the stories that only you can tell.

Whether you are a seasoned author or a newbie, Jen Louden's retreats provide a perfect blend of structure and spaciousness to allow for your creative muse to emerge. I felt unfettered by fear of criticism, enriched by the writing exercises and group discussions, and nourished by the emphasis on deep listening to my own voice. This was a true gift in my life, and I would recommend it to all who yearn to inspire the writer within them.

I came away from the Retreat knowing where I was going with my writing project. Prior to that, much frustration! I feel I changed as a writer because I value my voice in my writing now, I learned about Enoughness which really seems to bring more production in my writing than if I hadn't experienced what it means.   So much encouragement from Jen and the other writers. A time of awakening!

This was my very first writing retreat. Doing so was a stretch for me but I'm so glad I followed my gut and signed up for Jen's Writing Retreat. The 4 days of cocooning with like-minded souls went beyond my expectations. I loved Jen's seasoned, soulful teaching, and her sense of humor made me feel supported, nurtured  - and challenged. I learned so much about how to overcome my writing blocks, work toward attainable goals in bite size pieces, and how to keep swimming through the creative mess that is the writing process! I feel I can now move forward with more confidence, armed with a plan, a structure, and practical strategies for completing my first draft! Thank you Jen!

I might liken the experience of working with Jen to an artful counseling session...

I had arrived at a place in my life where I was struggling with whether I could still write, debating whether I honestly wanted to write, and questioning whether I had anything to say that anyone wanted to hear. After working with Jen, I departed with the strong desire to tell my story, a novel idea for the structure in which to do it, and a dash of sarcasm and humor to relate what might otherwise be too painful to tell.

I might liken the experience of working with Jen to an artful counseling session: She provides a bit of instruction and a series of thoughtful questions for me to explore and find my own truth. Jen the writer, along with Jen the gifted teacher, created a safe place for me to discover my voice again. For that, I am deeply grateful.
