“This is a truly brilliant book. Jennifer Louden is warm, down-to-earth, and thoroughly practical as she explores the profound question of what matters most to each of us. It’s quite stunning how she weaves together personal stories, deep reflections, inspiration, and immediately useful actions. A gem. ”
- Rick Hanson, Ph.D., author of Buddha’s Brain and Resilient
As this is a historic building, you will encounter a degree of “funkiness” you wouldn’t find at the Ritz, but if you love stepping back in history and feeling like you are walking in Mabel’s shoes (or Georgia O’Keeffe, Ansel Adams, or even Dennis Hopper, who once owned the place), you’ll love it.
Walking the labyrinth, gazing up at Taos mountain, smelling the sage after a thunderstorm, strolling into town to take in the art and culture, or finishing up another healthy delicious meal, you might hear yourself think, “I could get used to following my desires.” And that, my friend, is exactly what this retreat is all about!
Every morning we will start with (optional) Dance Yourself Awake in our beautiful yoga studio on the property. After breakfast, we will spend the morning in session together including time for silent reflection, trickster prompts, walking the labyrinth, and time in small groups.
Lunch will be followed by supported free time with fun and silent options.
We will come back together for another group session mid-afternoon.
After dinner, there will be time for guided meditations, creative silliness, and council.
On our final day together, August 1st, we’ll enjoy our normal morning session before you head home.
“I love this book like I love my closest girlfriends, because just like them, it is funny and smart and brave. Like them, it is comfortable with the mess and the vulnerability--in me and in life. Like them, it digs into the details, the nuances of how we forge our paths, the stuff it often seems like no one is willing to talk about. Whenever I put it down while reading, I craved going back to it, for more mentorship and comfort.
It's a truism among us personal growth writers to say that everything we are writing about has been written about a thousand times before, but I'm telling you - this book is important, and it has never been written before.”
-Tara Mohr, author, Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create and Lead
This desire retreat is open to women and anyone who identifies as female and is ready to co-create the retreat with me and the group by showing up fully, following gentle guidelines, and bringing an open mind and heart.
Rooms will be assigned in order of registration. We cannot guarantee rooms even if you come beforehand and are in a certain room because we assign rooms based on the order of registration.
Note: If you will not be happy unless you are placed in a certain room, please do not attend. Of course, if you must be on the ground floor for any reason, ask and we will do our very best to place you there.
Smoking is restricted to designated areas outdoors. Also, keep in mind that Taos is a high-elevation destination. It can take a little time to adjust, so you may wish to come to the area a day or two early if you know you are affected by altitude. (If you do come early, you must book directly with Mable Dodge, and we cannot promise you will stay in your same room.)
